What Does a Weekend in Clarksdale Look Like?

What does a weekend in Clarksdale really look like? We’ve put together a sample schedule of a fun weekend in Clarksdale to help our potential guests plan ahead. Of course, this is just ONE example!

Friday Evening
Check in at The Lofts is 3:00 p.m. Once you’ve gotten settled, you might be in need of an afternoon pick-me-up. Head downstairs to Yazoo Pass to grab an espresso drink and a freshly baked cookie. After snagging your treats, take a walking tour of Downtown Clarksdale. Head back to your loft to get ready for a night out on the town! Choose from one of the many restaurants Clarksdale has to offer such as Levon’s, Ramon’s, or Kathryn’s. Enjoy a fantastic meal, a few drinks, and you’re ready to hit the juke joints! Ground Zero will certainly show you a good time.

Saturday Morning
After a long night out on the town, you’ll need a good breakfast to start the new day. Grandma’s House of Pancakes will wake you up and get you moving for sure! Walk over to the Delta Blues Museum for an easy-going yet super interesting morning activity. Next on the agenda: Shopping! Whether you’re looking for local artwork, blues memorabilia, music equipment, home décor, clothing, gifts, plants, groceries, or anything else, there is a shop that has what you need! Check out some of our favorite spots for locally made items here.

Saturday Afternoon
Shopping will work up quite an appetite, so you’ll need to grab lunch soon. We are big fans of the “hole-in-the-wall” dining spot. Read about some of our favorites here! Saturday afternoon can be spent many different ways. You may want to find an outdoor activity. For the explorers out there, you could take a drive to find the crossroads or visit the multitude of historical markers in and around town. If there is a game on that you can’t miss, Stone Pony is the place to go! They have a huge bar and several TVs going for all the sports fans out there.

Saturday Evening
After you’ve taken a few minutes to recoup from your fun afternoon in Clarksdale, it’s time to head out again for cocktails and dinner. Hooker Grocer is just a short walk down the street from the Lofts and has a tasty menu, great cocktails, & a really fun outdoor seating area (don’t worry, they have indoor seating as well). After dinner, it’s time to head on over to Red’s Lounge – one of the only REAL juke joints still open for business. Enjoy live music from local musicians & dance the night away!

Sunday Morning
What a weekend! We wish you could stay forever, but check out is at 11:00. Sleep in for a bit, pack up, then make one more stop for breakfast before hitting the road. Meraki Roasting Co. is a non-profit coffee shop that provides job training for young people in our community! Meraki roasts their coffee in-house, and we know you could use it after a night out at Red’s! Meraki is also the home of Big River Bagels, and you can grab a delicious, homemade bagel with cream cheese or bagel sandwich for breakfast!
